Not all the specs are known on this new truck as of this writing, but we do know that the 3.5-liter PowerBoost V6 option will be able to provide at least 12,000 pounds or 5,443 kgs of towing capacity. What is a PowerBoost engine? This is a new term from Ford, but essentially this is the 3.6-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with an additional electric motor. This electric motor provides 47 extra horsepower and is integrated directly into the transmission. This motor also includes a 1.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery packaged underneath the truck.
With this added on-board power, the 2021 F-150 can supply up to four in-bed mounted 120-volt outlets capable of providing 20 amps or even a 240-volt option with 30-amp output. The F-150 has always been an asset to the job site, but now it’s an asset even when parked.
The 2021 F-150 is also more connected than ever before. It’s the first truck to include over-the-air updates meaning that the tech in your truck is always up to date. That tech includes the standard and all-new SYNC 4 system which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto built-in, and unlike previous iterations of the system, the SYNC 4 system doesn’t require you to plug your phone in to take advantage of these features.
Other available features include a built-in bottle opener, a tailgate work surface, trailer reverse guidance, a 12-inch display, reclining seats, and more!
